Puzzle Notes

Dear friends,

We guarantee your eyes will pop at the unusual symmetry and lively entries in this themeless by Quiara Vasquez. We think you'll find it very challenging!

Quiara Vasquez is an editor at AVCX and a regular contributor to various crossword outlets, as well as a speed solver who recently came in eighth at Lollapuzzoola. This themeless joint is her second puzzle for the Inkubator, having previously authored a themed grid for their cool book. This grid's shape reminds her of her most prized possession: a stag beetle encased in lucite she bought for her 25th birthday. Additional, tinier, less brutal Quiara puzzles can be found weekly both on her blog QVXwordz and the website Crossword Club.

When you're done solving, check out Diary of a Crossword Fiend for a write-up and discussion, every Friday after an Inkubator puzzle is published. For general updates, follow us on Twitter at @InkubatorXWords, and visit our website. Thanks to all of our subscribers for your continuing support, feedback, and kindness!

Coming up next, on September 22: Shannon Rapp and Rose Sloan bring the ornamentals.

All best,
Laura, Tracy, Stella, and Brooke
