Puzzle NotesDear subscribers,
Wendy L. Brandes and Martha Jones are back! The Inkubator is delighted to present their second inspired Inkubator collaboration, "Grading on a Curve," a moderately challenging invention with some twists. If you enjoy a test (as puzzlers often do), get out your #2 pencil (or implement of choice) and get ready to fill in some bubbles and squares!
Wendy L. Brandes is a lawyer and professor. Her puzzles have appeared in the Inkubator, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, and Universal Crosswords. When she is not thinking about crosswords, she can be found knitting, engaging in vicious games of Settlers of Catan, or rooting on the Yankees, Rangers, Giants, and Swarthmore Garnet. She is very grateful to the Inkubator for publishing puzzles by women and for their incredible editorial insights. Find Wendy at on Twitter at @wendybrandes1, where she retweets lots of photos of cute dogs.
Martha Jones, a former high-school mathematics teacher and social worker, enjoys travel, gardening, and spending as much time as possible listening to live music. Find Martha on Twitter at @msjpatricof.
When you're done solving, check out Diary of a Crossword Fiend for a write-up and discussion, every Friday after an Inkubator puzzle is published. For general updates, follow us on twitter at @InkubatorXWords, and visit our website. Thanks to all of our subscribers for your continuing support, feedback, and kindness!
Coming up in the queue, on May 7 and May 14 (bonus!), we'll offer a sequence of relevant, rollicking puzzles by two talented and tricksy constructors, Martha Kimes (aka "the other Martha") and Rachel Fabi.
