Puzzle Notes

Dear friends,

A timely announcement! The American Crossword Puzzle Tournament will be held virtually over the weekend of April 23-25, 2021. If you've never been able to attend in person, this is a great chance to try it out.

We're thrilled to be publishing Sara Cantor's "Springtime," a playful puzzle that's full of surprises. We think you'll find it moderately challenging!

Sara has always liked words more than most other things, but only solved their first crossword puzzle in 2019. They quickly became interested in how puzzles were made and decided their mission was to learn how to do it theirself. A soon-to-be graduate in Computational Linguistics, Sara appreciates mild weather, a sweet gherkin, and a bad (?) pun. Find Sara at @cantorlope on Twitter and Sara's puzzle blog at https://crosshare.org/scantor .

Are you looking for a way to solve puzzles and support reproductive justice at the same time? Check out These Puzzles Fund Abortion, a puzzle pack that raises money for the Baltimore Abortion Fund. Visit the fundraising page to donate and receive a pack of 14 original puzzles, many of which were made by Inkubator constructors.

Coming up next, on Thursday, April 15: a themeless puzzle from Annemarie Brethauer.

All best,
Laura, Tracy, Juliana, and Stella
